MISSION STATEMENT
So, what exactly is Warriors For Kids? Four years ago when I got into Professional Wrestling I told myself if I could ever be in a position where I could give back to the community, I would do everything I could to make it happen. With my wife Debbie, I own Schmack Daddy’s Sports Bar & Grill in Lenexa, KS. We are in a great position since; we meet a lot of people every day. So, our audience is very large. Earlier in the summer of 2002, I decided to move forward with completing a journey that has lasted nearly 10 years. How is that you ask? Before I was Schmack Daddy Warrior the Real American and Mr. USA, I was Denny Kolvek, assistant wrestling & football coach for Elkhorn High School in Elkhorn, Nebraska. In addition to my coaching duties I was a teacher assistant in the Special Education Department. It was during my tenure as a teaching assistant that my eyes were open to a whole different world. You see in the wonderful world of life not everyone is dealt the same hand or given the same gifts. Some get dealt a very difficult hand and must deal with it every day.

I have met several individuals over the last few years that give back to the community every day through the Special Olympics Program. As I was preparing to launch Warriors For Kids, I looked at individuals that give their time every day for such a great cause and never get recognized. People such as Dave Carsen who is a Special Olympics Soccer Coach or Mike Johnston who helps run a work shop for those with special needs or Chris Taylor who has a brother who is effected with downs syndrome and makes a difference every day by looking after his very well being. As I took a step back and was amazed at what they do, I started to think we could all make a difference.

It is at that point that Warriors For Kids found the charity of choice, the JCPRD Special Olympics Program. You hear so often that kids are the future, but what you don’t hear is that we have kids that simply get dealt a difficult hand in life and so for them every day is a challenge. I have been so fortunate to have lived so many dreams and now it is time to give back to the one’s that are our future THE KIDS. Warriors For Kids is simple, it means the pro wrestling community, local businesses and the community coming together to make a difference in the lives of those that need it the most.

So, on Friday, September 27, 2002 at the Shawnee Civic Center, the evening is all about the kids and raising money in order to help them. The communities support is crucial to the success of this event, so all the help that you can give either monetarily or time is greatly appreciated. And remember we are all WARRIORS FOR KIDS!

Note from the Webmaster
I have been involved in Professional Wrestling for about the same amount of time that I've been dealing with a daughter who has special needs. Because of my situation, I have first-hand knowledge of the challenges these kids have and the hard work parents of these children have to put in every day. Don't think for a minute you're safe. All of us want healthy, thriving children. The truth is, every child is a roll of the dice. Even those children that at first are found to be healthy may develop problems later. All parents are in fear of something being "wrong" with their children. When that fear becomes a reality it takes strength, love and determination to see it through. The support of the community sometimes can be just the kick in the pants some of us need when we feel alone in our troubles. WARRIORS FOR KIDS gives those of us in the Pro-Wrestling community a chance to get together and utilize our skills to help the children. When Denny first approached me with his idea I was gung-ho, however, I was skeptical he could get much support. I have been proved wrong. Denny has worked hard to make sure WARRIORS FOR KIDS makes a significant monetary contribution to The JCPRD Special Olympics Program while at the same time improving the awareness of all of us that there are children right here in the "Good Ol'" U.S. who need our help.

Thank you to Denny, the sponsers, the wrestlers and anyone who supports WARRIORS FOR KIDS in any way.
